14 New Substances of Very High Concern
14 new chemical substances are added to the Candidate List of substances of very high concern. From the Candidate List, substances will be selected that become object to authorization.The following substances were identified as new substances of very high concern:
- Aluminosilicate Refractory Ceramic Fibres
- Zirconia Aluminosilicate Refractory Ceramic Fibres
- 2,4-Dinitrotoluene
- Diisobutyl phthalate
- Lead chromate
- Lead chromate molybdate sulphate red (C.I. Pigment Red 104)
- Lead sulfochromate yellow (C.I. Pigment Yellow 34)
- tris(2-chloroethyl)phosphate
- Pitch, coal tar, high temp.
- Anthracene oil
- Anthracene oil, anthracene paste, distn. lights
- Anthracene oil, anthracene paste, anthracene fraction
- Anthracene oil, anthracene-low
- Anthracene oil, anthracene paste
Acrylamide (EC No 201-173-7 and CAS No 79-06-1) was also identified as a Substance of Very High Concern by ECHA’s Member State Committee. However, pursuant to an Order of the President of the General Court of the European Union, the inclusion of acrylamide in the Candidate List of substances for eventual inclusion in Annex XIV of REACH is suspended until the President of the General Court has made its order terminating the proceedings for interim relief in Case T-1/10 R.
