Harmonised Classification and Labelling for Three Chemical Substances

The Committee for Risk Assessment (RAC) of ECHA has adopted opinions on the proposals for classification and labelling across Europe of the following three chemical substances:
  • Indium phosphide: carcinogen and toxic for reproduction
Indium phosphide is, for example, used as a semiconductor in the electronics industry.
  • Di-tert-butyl peroxide – DTBP: mutagen
DTBP is typically used by industry as an additive in polymerisation reactions.
  • Trixylyl phosphate: toxic for reproduction
Trixylyl phosphate is mainly used as a fire resistant hydraulic fluid, for example in industrial power generators.

The Opinion will be forwarded to the Commission for a final decision.
