Event - Detail

  • REACH&CLP Annual conference 2018: Implementation and future challenges for companies

    The REACH&CLP Helpdesk Luxembourg, a national service provided by the Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology, is pleased to invite you to its next information sessions entitled " REACH&CLP Annual conference 2018: Implementation and future challenges for companies" on Thursday, 6th of December 2018 from 12:30 to 17:00, at the administrative building at Belval.

For this year’s event, we will first give a short review of the last 2018 registration deadline for small tonnages that ended last June, but also remind companies that REACH registration obligations will continue, e.g. the update and evaluation of the registration dossiers. This intervention will be followed by a feedback from a Luxembourgish company on their main challenges in registering their last substances on time, and on their main challenges in the upcoming years. The second part of the conference will focus on a selection of topics that are considered as important for companies in the next years:
  • Future enforcement projects in Luxembourg related to REACH and CLP regulations (REACH Helpdesk Luxembourg);
  • Interface between Occupational Safety and Health legislation and REACH regulation (Inspection du Travail et des Mines – ITM);
  • Annex VIII CLP related to harmonised information relating to emergency health response (REACH Helpdesk Luxembourg);
  • The last changes related to the Biocides regulation (Administration de l’Environnement – AEV); and
  • Substances (of very high concern, SVHC) in articles (REACH Helpdesk Luxembourg).
The session will continue with the presentation of the LIFE Project AskREACH on the improvement of the information flow on SVHC in articles between suppliers and consumers by IT tools. It aims to help suppliers of articles to be compliant with their REACH obligations and support the communication on SVHC in articles along the supply chain from the supplier to the consumer. In this edition of the conference, participants will actively have the opportunity to directly express their views concerning the future challenges of REACH and CLP. Prior to the conference, as usual, you are invited to a networking lunch where you can discuss in a relaxed atmosphere with the team of the REACH&CLP Helpdesk Luxembourg, the speakers and the other participants.

This event is addressed to all companies (manufacturers, importers, downstream users of chemicals, article producers), as well as national authorities and consulting companies active in the field of REACH and CLP.
