The European Commission has published a new Regulation (EU) 2017/1000 restricting the use of Perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA), its salts and PFOA-related substances.

On 14 June 2017, 90 participants, composed of safety and environmental experts from industry, craft industry and public organisations that deal with the legislation on classified installations (“Commodo”) met at the “Bâtiment administratif” in Belval to learn more about the impact of the new law on administrative simplifications (known as “Omnibus” law).

The Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST) released today a new « Commodo/CLP Toolkit » allowing companies to easily determine their “commodo” class for the storage and use chemical products and if there is a possible class change following the changes of the “commodo” nomenclature and the new “Omnibus” law.

The REACH&CLP Helpdesk Luxembourg invites laboratory managers, laboratory researchers or technicians of public institutes and companies, to an information session (in German) on the 27th of June 2017, from 2.00 to 5.00 pm at the Administration Building at Belval.

To prepare luxembourgish companies subject to the law known as "Commodo", an information session, with the latest news and procedures resulting from this legislation and the publication of the "Omnibus" law, will be held on Wednesday 14 June 2017 at the “Bâtiment administratif” in Belval from 3 to 5 pm.

The ‘Downstream Users of Chemicals Co-ordination group’ has created a set of slides summarising the main principles behind their "bottom up" approach for deriving and communicating information on the safe use of mixtures by workers.
