ECHA has launched consultations on three applications for authorisation and two review reports covering six uses of:

• chromium trioxide for the following uses: pre-treatment/etching in the chrome plating process of automotive plastic components; functional chrome plating of components in the automotive industry and decorative/functional application (electroplating) in the sanitary industry.
• 2,2'-dichloro-4,4'-methylenedianiline (MOCA) in the manufacture of hot cast polyurethane products.
• Trichloroethylene in the following uses: extraction solvent in the manufacture of polyethylene separators for lead-acid batteries and extraction solvent for the purification of caprolactam from caprolactam oil.
