Four new proposals to identify substances of very high concern (SVHCs)
Public consultation on four new proposals to identify substances of very high concern (SVHCs) has been launched. The substances and examples of their uses are:
- Perfluorobutane sulfonic acid (PFBS) and its salts. The substances are used in polymer production;
- Diisohexyl phthalate. The substance is not registered under REACH. However, it is a component of 1,2-benzenedicarboxylic acid, dihexyl ester, which might be used as a substitute for other low/transitional molecular weight phthalates of carbon backbone lengths of C4-C6 already included in Annex XIV or recommended for inclusion in Annex XIV;
- 2-benzyl-2-dimethylamino-4'-morpholinobutyrophenone. The substance is used in polymer production; and
- 2-methyl-1-(4-methylthiophenyl)-2-morpholinopropan-1-one. The substance is used in polymer production.
The deadline for comments is 18 October 2019.
