Four proposals to identify new substances of very high concern
Four proposals to identify new substances of very high concern were published. The proposals are for:
- (±)-1,7,7-trimethyl-3-[(4-methylphenyl)methylene]bicyclo[2.2.1]heptan-2-one covering any of the individual isomers and/or combinations thereof (4-MBC) used as a UV filter in cosmetics and personal care products;
- tris(2-methoxyethoxy)vinylsilane used to manufacture rubber and plastic, to formulate non-metal surface treatment solutions or dispersions and in sealants;
- 6,6'-di-tert-butyl-2,2'-methylenedi-p-cresol used as an antioxidant or stabiliser in the manufacture of polymers and as an additive in the rubber industry. The substance is also used by consumers and professional workers in lubricants, greases, adhesives, sealants, hydraulic fluids and metal working fluids; and
- S-(tricyclo[5.2.1.02,6]deca-3-en-8(or 9)-yl) O-(isopropyl or isobutyl or 2-ethylhexyl) O-(isopropyl or isobutyl or 2-ethylhexyl) phosphorodithioate used to formulate lubricants (additives) and greases that are used by professional workers and at industrial sites.
