On the 9^th of May, the Commission has opened a news public consultation on chemicals strategy for sustainability.

This consultation is linked to the European Green Deal and the context of its zero pollution ambition for a toxic-free environment. This strategy will be built around the recent policy evaluation and initiatives associated with the European chemicals legislation.

The aim of this strategy is to reduce the risks associated with producing and using chemicals. One of the objective is to simplify and strengthen EU rules on chemicals, and review how EU agencies and scientific bodies can work together towards a process where substances are only reviewed by one agency.

The consultation is opened until the 20^th of June 2020.
