A form to obtain written consent for the import of mercury and certain mercury-based mixtures is available on the emwelt.lu website.

This form has been put in place to fulfill the requirements of Article 4.1 of Regulation (EU) 2017/852 on mercury, and repealing Regulation (EC) No 1102/2008. The regulation specifies that mercury and certain mercury-based mixtures may only be imported into the European Union if:

• the importing State has given its written consent to such importation, and
• the import of mercury is done for the purpose of eliminating it as waste.
