A new initiative concerning Harmonised classification and labelling of certain substances under CL is under preparation.

This initiative is related to a proposed draft Commission Delegated Regulation that aims to introduce 38 new and to modify 10 existing harmonised classifications of substances or substance groups in Annex VI of the CLP Regulation. The proposed changes are based on scientific opinions by the RAC that were published in 2024. The justification for adopting this initiative is the legal obligation, under Article 37(5) of the CLP Regulation, for the Commission to include, without undue delay, new classifications in Annex VI on the basis of the scientific assessment done by the RAC.
