The European Commission has requested ECHA to prepare a restriction report on non-polymeric additive aromatic brominated flame retardants and an investigation report on organophosphorus flame retardants as well as potential alternatives to certain aromatic brominated flame retardants.

ECHA plans to submit the restriction proposal until 11 December 2026.
