On the 4 February 2026, two substances have been added to the Candidate List for authorisation which now contains 253 substances.

The following substances are added:

• N-hexane;
• 4,4’-[2,2,2-trifluoro-1-(trifluoromethyl)ethylidene]diphenol] and its salts.

As a reminder, the use of these SVHC is not forbidden. They may continue to be placed on the market but are subject to communication duties by suppliers in accordance with Articles 31, 32 and 33 REACH.

Manufacturers and importers of articles that contain one of the substances must notify ECHA pursuant to Article 7(2) REACH. The deadline for notifying the newly added substances is the 4 July 2026.
