Luxembourg – Publication of the 1st report by the interministerial "PFAS" group on work carried out in 2024–2026

In March, the 1st report by the interministerial “PFAS” group on work carried out in 2024–2026 was published on the Emwelt.lu website.

Following the widespread detection of trifluoroacetic acid (TFA) in water, the Minister for the Environment, Climate and Biodiversity took the initiative to informally establish an interministerial ‘PFAS’ working group. It comprises representatives from the aforementioned ministry, the Ministry of Health and Social Security, and the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Viticulture. Although the presence of TFA in water remains a priority concern, the working group’s remit is to closely monitor the entire PFAS issue.

This report should therefore be regarded as an initial report, with further reports to follow depending on the progress of the group’s work.
