REACH ensure that manufacturers, importers and downstream users only manufacture, place on the market or use substances that do not adversely affect human health or the environment. Thus, it contributes to a high level of protection of human health and the environment, and at the same time fosters the promotion of alternative (non-animal) test methods, the free circulation of chemicals on the internal market, competitiveness and innovation.
The CLP Regulation harmonises the criteria for classification of substances and mixtures, and the rules on labelling and packaging for hazardous chemical.
