  Webinar on the restriction of microplastics - Industry focus

  The REACH&CLP Helpdesk Luxembourg, with the support of the Environment Agency (AEV) and the Chamber of Craft, is organising a webinar on microplastics restrictions with a particular focus on industry. This webinar will take place on Thursday 30 April from 10:00 to 11:30.

Under REACH, restriction is an instrument to protect human health and the environment from unacceptable risks posed by chemicals. Restriction is normally used to limit or ban the manufacture, placing on the market (including imports) or use of a substance, but can impose any relevant condition, such as requiring technical measures or specific labels. A restriction may apply to any substance on its own, in a mixture or in an article, including those that do not require registration, for example, substances manufactured or imported below one tonne per year or certain polymers.

In this first webinar of the year, the REACH&CLP Helpdesk will revisit the restriction on microplastics, with a particular focus on industry. This presentation will also include a brief overview of the restriction procedure. In addition, the Environment Agency (AEV), Luxembourg’s competent authority, will present an overview of the various controls put in place by the Luxembourg authorities under REACH.

Participants will also have the opportunity to ask questions to all the speakers.

This webinar is aimed at all manufacturers affected by the REACH restriction on microplastics.
