The Commission just opened a consultation on update of EU rules for test methods.

This initiative will add a number of new/updated methods to the list of approved methods for testing chemicals.

These methods could:

• reduce the number of animals needed to test for chemical hazards; and
• refine certain tests to obtain more reliable/precise results on chemical hazards.

The consultation is opened until 9 January 2024.
