Consultation launched on restriction proposal concerning hazardous chemicals in single-use diapers

A wide stakeholder consultation on the proposal concerning hazardous chemicals in single-use diapers will open on the 21st of December 2020 and run to the 21st of June 2021. ECHA’s scientific committees welcome early comments by the 1st of February 2021 to help them in the first discussions on the proposal in March 2021.

Background: To minimise health risks to children and infants under the age of three, French authorities are proposing to restrict chemicals such as PAHs, furans, dioxins, formaldehyde and PCBs in single-use baby diapers.
