Consultations launched for applications for authorisation and review reports
ECHA has launched a consultation on two applications for authorisation and two review reports covering:
- Two uses of chromium trioxide: used in functional plating of engine valves and valve actuation (“lash adjusters”, use 1) and in industrial formulation of a chromium trioxide solution below 0.1 % w/w concentration for the passivation of copper foil used in the manufacture of lithium ion batteries for motorised vehicles (use 2);
- One use of trichloroethylene (TCE): used as a processing aid in the biotransformation of starch to obtain betacyclodextrin; and
- One use of 4-nonylphenol, branched and linear, ethoxylated: used as a non-reactive surfactant in the sealing product in the sulfuric acid anodisation process of aluminium alloy parts of aircraft landing gears.
The deadline for comments is 14 April 2021.
