ECHA is collecting and summarising information on the presence of hazardous substances in childcare articles.

The EC (European Commission) has requested to investigate the potential presence of carcinogenic, mutagenic and reprotoxic substances in childcare articles (CMR 1A & 1B).

This work will support the Commission in preparing a restriction proposal following the simplified restriction procedure for CMR substances (REACH Article 68(2)).

The report is expected to be published in September 2023.
