The REACH&CLP Helpdesk Luxembourg organised a practical training on tools to assess and compare chemicals hazardous properties and sustainability as decision support for replacing hazardous substances with safer substances, on the 12^th of April 2018, where almost 20 participants took part.

During this training, a global vision of the available databases containing information on the hazardous properties and regulatory scrutiny on substances used in a company, was  presented. This presentation was followed by a first overview of the available tools to compare alternative chemicals and choose the best options to substitute hazardous substances. An interactive practical session was then proposed to the participants who had the opportunity to discover two decision support tools, the <link http: www.dguv.de medien ifa en pra ghs_spaltenmodell spaltenmodell_2017_en.pdf _blank>Column model and <link http: coshh-tool.hse.gov.uk _blank>COSSH Essentials.
