The European Commission has requested ECHA to collect information on the potential risk to human health and the environment from polyvinyl chloride (PVC) additives and PVC itself, including aspects relating to the circular economy.

ECHA will also look into the impacts on society of a possible restriction and the need for EU-wide action beyond any measures already in place. The work should be completed by May 2023.
