The REACH restriction on intentionally added microplastics in products enters into force on 17 October 2023.

The restriction is based on a proposal put forward by ECHA in January 2019 and their scientific committees supported it in 2020. Check ECHA’s dedicated website to see how much microplastics are used in everyday products and how much ends up in the environment.
