ECHA has participated in a research project setting up a metabolic biomarker panel for toxicology.

It is based on existing knowledge from various databases and scientific literature. The MTox700+ panel will support the generation of consistent molecular mechanistic data for chemical hazard assessment.  

This contributes to the development of new approach methodologies and thereby alternatives to animal testing.
