An amendment of the Annex XVII REACH (Regulation (EU) 2025/660) has recently  been published in the Official Journal. The amendment concerns  a restriction on polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon (PAHs) in clay targets for shooting.

This restriction is added as entry n°50a to the restriction list in Annex XVII of REACH.

The commission expects that this restriction will reduce the emissions of PAHs by 99% and improve the cancer risk on exposed workers and the public handling or shooting clay targets. The restriction will start applying on the 22 April 2026.
