On the 5 November 2025, 1,1’-(ethane-1,2-diyl)bis[pentabromobenzene] (DBDPE) has been added to the Candidate List for authorisation which now contains 251 substances.

As a reminder, the use of SVHCs is not forbidden. They may continue to be placed on the market but are subject to communication duties by suppliers in accordance with Articles 31, 32 and 33 REACH.

Manufacturers and importers of articles that contain one of these SVHCs must notify ECHA pursuant to Article 7(2) REACH. The deadline for notifying the newly added substance is the 5 May 2026, sic months after its inclusion to the candidate list.
