EU Checks find one in five everyday products non-compliant
A Europe-wide inspection campaign “Coordinated Activities on Product Safety” (CASP) has uncovered hazardous substances in everyday consumer goods, including children's clothing sold in Luxembourg.
Of 128 products tested, 25 failed EU requirements and were withdrawn or banned from sale. In Luxembourg, five of twelve waterproof garments contained excessive PFAS levels. They were removed from the market and reported to the Safety Gate system.
